If elected, McDonald, who is a Malden Councillor-at-Large, would fill the seat of State Senator Jason Lewis, who has decided not to run for reelection. State Representative Kate Lipper-Garabedian and Malden Ward 4 Councillor Ryan O’Malley are also vying for the spot.
