Markey with its Public Official of the Year Award in recognition of his outstanding commitment to the disability community. “Senator Markey has been a steadfast supporter of Triangle since its earliest days — as a state legislator, a Congressman, a U.S. Senator, munity and inclusion. Sen. Markey has been instrumental in advancing policies that promote inclusion and has fought to protect and strengthen Medicare and Medicaid benefits for society’s vulnerable people while being a champion for health and medical research, consumer protection, the disabled and the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
