THE MALDEN ADVOCATE–Friday, April 24, 2026 Page 9 MALDEN HIGH SPORTS: Tornado Boys Lacrosse and Varsity Softball earn first wins; Bell, Path, Seeley are standouts Malden Boys Volleyball looks to get back on track; perfect start for Tornado Boys Tennis (3-0) By Steve Freker C ongratulations are in order for Malden High Boys Lacrosse Head Coach Jonathan Copithorne and the Golden Tornado Laxmen on their first win of the season, 4-3 over Revere at Pine Banks Park on Thursday, April 16. The victory made FIVE WINS in a 24-hour span for Tornado Athletics, adding in wins for Boys Tennis, Girls Tennis, Girls Softball and Boys Volleyball on April 15. Malden was led by Senior Captain Dante Bell and sophomore attack man Chance Path, each of whom scored two goals in the victory over Somerville. Path has been on fire this season, scoring nine goals in the Tornados’ first four games to date. Malden dropped a game to Greater Boston League leader Medford (5-2 overall) on Tuesday to go to 1-5 overall, and was scheduled to play on the road at Lynn Classical yesterday (after Advocate press time).
