He coached baseball at Malden High from 1985-1999 previously, this being the 37th year coaching high school baseball for Coach Freker, who was inducted into the Mass. State High School Coaches (MBCA) Hall of Fame in 2016 and the Malden High Golden Tornado Hall of Fame in 2007. While at Malden Catholic, Freker served under Serino who was athletic director at the time, and also coached two of Coach Serino's sons, Nick and Anthony. Both of the sons were D-1 scholarship baseball players at UMass-Amherst. Nick Serino went on to the professional ranks with the Toronto Blue Jays organization, one of eight professional MLB baseball players from Malden Catholic from 2006-2012. Malden Catholic baseball won nearly 200 games from 20002012 and the MIAA Division 1 State Baseball Championship in 2003. The Lancers baseball program sent 74 players to the college baseball ranks in those years, many of them during Coach Serino's tenure as AD from 2006-2012. "We started the Serino Classic in 2014 at Saugus High and it was such a big success we brought it to Malden High when we returned here," Freker said. OBITUARIES Vicki Giannelli Age of 66. Born May 10, 1955, to the late Frank Giannelli and Anna (Chitofsky). Raised in Everett before moving to Malden where she spent most of her adult life. She was predeceased by her sister, Frances McCoy, Dolores Madigan and Diane Holmes. She is survived by her brother. Francis Giannelli and his wife Lorraine (Cloutier) Giannelli and their children. Anthony Giannelli, Sandra Ferragamo, Kimberley (Giannelli) Barry and Peter Giannelli along with their families. Vicki is also survived by many loving family members and friends including her loyal furfriend Penny. Morris "Moe" Sack Of Salem formerly of Peabody and Malden died peacefully on April 13, 2022 at the age of 95. Moe was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Jean Sack. He was also predeceased by his mother and father, Minnie and Harry Sack, his brother, Martin Sack, and sister Ruth Bauman. He leaves his daughter Ilene Sack and her companion Lenny Robinson of Gloucester, his son, Steven Sack of Cambridge, and his dear friend, Harriet Sherman of Peabody. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Moe was a graduate of Malden High School and Boston University and proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He was an active member of Temple Ner Tamid and Congregation Sons of Israel of Peabody. He was a past commander of the Peabody Jewish War Veterans Post 220.
