Councillor Murphy was unanimously elected to the post by a 9-0 vote of the City Council at the fi nal meeting of 2022 on December 20. She will succeed longtime Malden Councillor-at-Large Craig Spadafora in leading the Council in 2023. Councillor Murphy previously served as Council President in 2016.
