Any alteration or extension of a nonconforming structure also requires a special permit from the Zoning Board of Appeals, pursuant to Section 3.C of the Zoning Ordinance. The property is currently nonconforming as to parking, as twelve parking spaces would be required for the existing six units, pursuant to Section 17.A.2 of the Zoning Ordinance, and only five spaces are provided. The proposed addition of a seventh dwelling unit will increase this nonconformity, which also requires a special permit under Section 3.C of the Zoning Ordinance. Alternatively, the applicant may choose to participate in the transportation demand management program under Section 35 of the Zoning Ordinance. So, whenever you recall Ernie A. Ardolino Sr. – Mr. A, Coach Ardolino, just plain old Ernie – think good thoughts, think happy thoughts and remember that beaming, genuine smile he always wore. That is exactly how he would want it. Also, be glad that the last time you saw Ernie Sr., you did stop and say hello and catch up with this wonderful man.
