T he City of Everett’s Council on Aging (COA) recently delivered a total of over 400 socks, gloves and hats that were donated by Everett community members to the Veterans Home in Chelsea. The COA received overwhelming support this year – they were able to make the largest donation they have made so far for this annual endeavor. Schiavo, a U.S. Marine Corporal who was killed in action in Okinawa during World War II – was created in his honor just a few years after his death with the aim of supporting Veterans, which is still one of the main causes that the club supports.
