Crimson Tide Sports Notebook: Football keeps on winning; Girls soccer dominates; Boys soccer looks ahead to the GBL Cup By Joe McConnell Tide football thinks ‘next play’ for more success T he Crimson Tide football team (4-1) has now won three in a row, and four of their first five games, including last Friday night’s home encounter against Revere, 35-27. What’s the secret to their success, here’s what Coach Rob DiLoreto had to say about that. “Our team is committed to adhering to a next play mindset,” he said. “We are trying our best to stay in the moment and stay focused on what we can control, which is (as simple as) the next play for us throughout each game. This next play mentality helps us to focus on our effort and performance on each snap. I can hear our players saying ‘next play’ to each other, especially if something bad happens. It is helping us stay focused, for sure.” DiLoreto mentioned that Jamauri Dulin (5 receptions for 136 yards; 6 carries for 64 yards) played a tremendous game on both offense and defense to help lead his teammates to past Revere. “(Dulin) made several extremely athletic plays as a wide receiver in this game, and also played very physical on defense,” the veteran coach added.
