Governor Maura Healey is calling on people across the Commonwealth to come together in remembrance of the 2,977 people senselessly killed, in support of the families who continue to carry their memories and in recognition of the fi rst responders and everyday people who demonstrated extraordinary compassion in the wake of the attacks. Governor Healey has directed American flags across Massachusetts to 9/11 | SEE PAGE 6 Everett superintendent outlines priorities in new 3-year strategic plan By Neil Zolot uperintendent William Hart outlined priorities in a new 3-year strategic plan called Together We Rise, which was conceived over the summer by members of the school community and community at large, at the School Committee meeting on Monday, August 31. “Every voice that wanted to be heard was heard,” he said. The priority listed fi rst was S Academic Excellence and Engaging Learning, in which every student engages in rigorous, relevant learning that deepens knowledge, sparks curiosity, builds confi dence and accelerates academic growth and achievement. It was followed by a priority for a Transformative Pre-K Experience for Every Student in which every student is guaranteed a high-quality educaWilliam Hart EPS Superintendent tional experience for prekindergarten through graduation with the tools, opportunities, facilities, learning spaces and transitions needed to grow, learn and thrive at every stage.
