Van Campen has appointed Norilyz Valentin as Director of Information Technology (IT) for the City of Everett, pending City Council confi rmation. Valentin brings more than a decade of experience in IT across municipal government, state government and the private sector. Throughout her career, she has led technology modernization efforts, strengthened cybersecurity, improved operational effi ciency and implemented innovative solutions that support reliable public services. “Modernizing City Hall has been one of my top priorities since taking offi ce,” said Mayor Van Campen. “Technology should make government more effi cient, more secure, and easier for residents to access. Unfortunately, the City’s technology infrastructure is of Everett as Director of Information Technology,” said Valentin. “I look forward to partnering with city leadership, employees, and the community to advance technology that is secure, innovative, and focused on delivering exceptional public service.” Valentin most recently Norilyz Valentin New IT Director not where it needs to be, and that’s something we’re committed to changing. I’m confi dent that Norilyz has the experience and leadership to help us build a technology foundation that will serve Everett for years to come.” “I’m honored to join the City served as Assistant Director of Information Technology for Monitoring and Observability for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where she led a team of engineers responsible for statewide monitoring operations. She previously served in leadership roles with the City of Chelsea, overseeing technology operations for City Hall, public safety departments, and 911 services while leading projects to improve transparency, resident services and internal operations. Interim Director of IT Neal Ellis said the need for investment became clear almost immediately after he began evaluating the City’s technology infrastructure. “When I started working here, I had a plan.
