THE EVERETT ADVOCATE – Friday, April 26, 2019 Page 5 City announces dates and details for upcoming election By Christopher Roberson T his fall, Everett’s 20,000 registered voters will go the polls to elect officials for the City Council and School Committee. City Clerk Sergio Cornelio said every seat on each board will be up for grabs this year and that nomination papers will be available at City Hall on April 29. Each position requires a minimum of 250 signatures in order for a candidate to appear on the ballot. Cornelio said July 19 is the last day for candidates to submit nomination papers. Regarding compensation, he said city councillors will be paid $25,500 per year starting on January 1, 2020, which is an increase of $500. School Committee members will receive $11,500 per year. This year’s Primary Election will be held on September 17, and the General Election will be held on November 5.
