(Photo Courtesy of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission) Schools issue updated regulations on out-of-state travel O n April 15, the Everett Public Schools shared a reminder to our community encouraging families to review the Massachusetts COVID-19 Travel Advisory as well as the guidelines and requirements for travel of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The communication failed to mention that the Everett Public Schools’ policies and protocols related to travel are more stringent than those of the state and the CDC. Within the new total, $20.3 million came from table games while the remaining $29.2 million came from the slot machines. The state collected $12.4 million in taxes from Encore last month. E The March total elevated the casino’s yearly revenue to $123.9 million. In addition, Encore has brought in $769.6 million since its grand opening nearly two years ago. The March total represents a lofty increase of $8.7 million over February’s fi gure. It also is $29.1 million greater than the fi gure that was reported in March 2020. However, last March, Encore closed its doors halfway through the month in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. So far this year, the casino is averaging a $41.3 million per month. Last year’s monthly revenue averaged $27.6 million; however, because of the pandemic the casino was closed from March 15 to July 12. Compared to the other two casinos in the state, Encore cruised past MGM Springfi eld, which reported a revenue of $22 million last month while Plainridge Park Casino brought in $12.2 million.
