The visit comes as part of McGonagle’s new role as House Chair of the Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Aff airs. “In this position, I know I have the opportunity to help and reach a population that is deeply important to me,” said McGonagle. “With this new housing, New Bedford reports zero homeless veterans. That must be the goal and standard for the entire Commonwealth. I’m grateful to Governor Healey and her administration not just for inviting me on this visit, but for maintaining veterans’ welfare as a top priority.
