THE EVERETT ADVOCATE – Friday, February 14, 2020 Page 5 Everett man kills brother-in-law, then takes own life By Christopher Roberson W illiam McFeely, 63, of Everett, allegedly shot and killed his brother-in-law Frank Trombetta at approximately 12:30 p.m. on February 7 outside of a Mobil station in Saugus’ Cliftondale neighborhood, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s Offi ce. Trombetta, also 63 and of Everett, was reportedly shot twice in the chest and rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police immediately began searching for McFeely and told Everett school administrators to have students and faculty shelter in place as a precaution. Police later found McFeely in his vehicle at Woodlawn Cemetery, dead from a self-infl icted gunshot wound. In addition, Trombetta, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and his wife, Lorraine, became the subjects of the infamous “House of Horrors” case after the couple was arrested for a domestic disturbance in January 1999. When police searched the Trombettas’ home, they discovered the couple’s children — two girls and three boys shivering in the basement. The meeting will be held on the Lower Level of the Parlin Memorial Library. This will be the fi rst in a series of community meetings to be held around the city. Learn and ask questions about different topics, such as housing, housing development, transportation, parking and municipal infrastructure. This meeting will be livestreamed on the mayor’s Facebook page and will give residents the opportunity to ask questions live, via the stream, which will then be relayed to the participants. It was later discovered that the State Department of Social Services (now the State Department of Children and Families) took little action in the matter despite receiving 13 complaints from school offi cials and neighbors about the Trombetta home.
