By applying skills and methods taught here, organisations will benefit from more motivated staff as well as improved functional mobility of clients. Who should attend? Managers, supervisors and those responsible for educating others in the moving and handling of people within the health or social care sector. Experience in moving and handling people is essential. Aims of the course? • To provide delegates with the skills and knowledge on how to move people in bed • The skills and knowledge to move people in relation to walking and chair mobility • To recognise emergency situations and plan for the manual handling pertaining to the emergency situation • The skills to provide an evidence base for your safer people handling practice and make you aware of the implications of use in practice • The knowledge and skills of moving a person safely in a passive lift hoist linked to legislation and best practice guidance • To teach induction and mandatory training that is tailored to your organisation based on current best practice Course duration and assessment: The course will be delivered via flexible distance learning and face-to-face training. All delegates will need to submit a final assessment based on their own organisation in order to receive the Level 3 qualification. On successful completion of the practical and paperless assessments, delegates will be awarded a Safer People Handling Trainers certificate, valid for two years.
