Course content: The content of this three-day in-house first aid course covers the role of the first aider in providing basic life saving first aid, plus workplace health and safety regulations covering the following: • Managing an emergency • Head and eye injuries • Communication and casualty care • Health and safety (first aid) regulations • Asthma • Low blood sugar • Bleeding (minor and severe) • • Resuscitation (adult CPR) • Burns and scalds • • • • Seizures and strokes Chest pains Severe allergic reactions and poisoning Choking (adult) • Shock and fainting • Spinal injuries First Aid at Work Requalification The First Aid at Work Requalification course updates the first aid skills of those who need to renew their First Aid at Work certificate. It covers the contents of the three-day First Aid at Work course and is delivered within your company. The HSE strongly recommends that you gain requalification within a month of your certificate expiring. Who should attend? The course aims to update and refresh your knowledge of the First Aid at Work syllabus, while allowing time for revision and practice sessions in preparation for a written assessment.
