NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety The NEBOSH National General Certificate is the most widely-held health and safety qualification in the UK. Who should attend? Managers, supervisors and staff with health and safety among their day-to-day responsibilities. Safety professionals on their first level of formal training. What are the learning outcomes? • The NEBOSH Certificate enables the holder to apply for membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) at Technician level (TechIOSH) • • Nationally-recognised professional qualification acknowledged and requested by employers Provides a comprehensive understanding of key health and safety issues and legal requirements affecting the workplace Course Content The syllabus has three units, each of which is assessed separately: • NGC1 The Management of Health and Safety • GC2 Controlling Workplace Hazards • GC3 Health and Safety Practical Applications Unit GC3 is assessed by a two-hour practical examination, which must be taken within 14 days of the written examination. The practical examination is internally assessed by RoSPA and externally moderated by NEBOSH.
