The fall of 1975 was the first year Prairie has had a girls cross-country team. The team consisted of six girls with at least one person representing each of the four grades. At times they were found running in the rain, around cars, through parks and even down the interstate. The Hawks ended up with a final win/loss record of 2-9. Even though the record doesn’t sound too impressive. Brian Fruendt, Steve Shebetka, Lyle Ziskovsky, Tim Carson, Dave Gromman, and Lenny Zalesky all qualified to run in the state meet which was held on October 18th. This year’s cross-country team didn’t do as well as expected by Junior Varsity, left to right-Tim Carson, Tom Schwab, Dick Lorimer, Tom Bunnell.
