Anything I can do differently? - Jessica L. Dear Jessica, I feel like these events haven’t changed much in the last 10 years so it’s time we start changing. In a networking event, a lot of people are trying to “sell” themselves when just getting to know someone should be the first step. Now these business cards. If you think about it, today we all have cell phones and can easily take down someone’s information especially if we are right in front of them, I’d say the same for appointments. Instead of exchanging cards, exchange open dates for the next week and set in your calendars your next meeting right then and there. You should now walk out of the event with actual meetings instead of a stack of cards - John John J.
