County TV & Appliance: at 65, More Successful than Ever It’s been a family affair ever since Stamford, CT-based County TV & Appliance opened its doors in 1951. Heading into its fourth generation of family management County TV celebrated its 65th anniversary on September 13th at the recently remodeled store. After the original owner, Jack Cohn, founded County TV & Appliance, his son, Lester, joined him in the business 13 years later, strengthening the company’s focus on major appliances, electronics and televisions. Twelve years after that, Vincent Vetrini came aboard and rose to the position of general manager. He, combined with Lester, made County TV a household name that was repeatedly recognized by This Week In Consumer Electronics (TWICE) magazine as one of the 50 major appliance powerhouses in the country.
