A Message from the Executive Officer Dear HBRA Members, I attended my first IBS event in Las Vegas last month - The Executive Officer session track with EO’s from all over the US (including Hawaii) was an excellent source of new ideas and opportunities. Congratulations to Greg Ugalde, our new NAHB Third Vice Chairman. A sea of blue shirts bearing Greg’s name joined him as he spoke at all of the state caucauses. Connecticut as well as all of the Northeast is proud to have Greg representing us. I was also happy to be in attendance to represent Fairfield CT when Stephen Gidley received his NAHB CGR of the Year award. The FREE event for Builder Members was held on February 3rd at the Norwalk Inn & Conference Center. Thanks to Bill Ethier for speaking to the group of what is on the horizon for CT Builders. All of the builders that attended gave us a thumbs up! See pages 12 & 13 for pictures of the event. The HBRA of Fairfield County Home Show was February 13 & 14 at Chelsea Piers in Stamford. We had quite a few members exhibit. See pages 16 & 17 for some of the highlights. There’s some great upcoming Fairfield County educational events to take note in February and March: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of IECC Code Testing on the 25th at Rings’ End. OSHA 10 Hour Construction on March 3rd and 4th in l-r: Deanna Hiller, Albert Annunziata, Executive Dir. Building Institiute of Westchester County, Gina Calabro, Connie Cooper & Andrew La Sala Westport at Symphony Workplaces, and Business Succession Planning at Ring’s End on March 15th.
