Competition was so close two teams Scored 75! The tie was broken by the highest score of a random round. 2nd Place Team Belleville News Democrat! 3rd Place Team TheBANK of Edwardsville! Lance Corporal James Poggi enlisted in the U.S. Marines at age 19. He suffered a back injury when a helicopter malfunctioned during landing and he helped to catch the helicopter on mattresses he had stacked on a trailer when while serving in Afghanistan in 2010. His injury not only lingered, it worsened. James developed spinal meningitis that resulted in the complete loss of use in his left foot. He received an honorable discharge and continues to suffer from memory loss and post-traumatic stress disorder. He has had to rely on the use of his wheelchair or braces to be mobile, but that has not been without challenges. These injuries profoundly changed not only his life, but the lives of his wife and children as well. Poggi has received a number of medals including the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation along with many others.
