A business that is a member of the HBA has taken an educated stand to be part of a professional trade organization to enhance their business in a positive path. A Home Builder Association (HBA) member demonstrates their commitment to the goals of the housing industry in this market. HBA is the only organization of its kind that is always working to assist their members with current information, education and support that will benefit the members business. HBA is also consumer focused, they use their role as a community leader to inform and educate the public in consumer protection, housing trends, life safety issues, new and innovative products and money-saving tips. These services are provided to consumers in a variety of ways; Spring Home Show, Home Envy, various media (tv, radio, print and facebook), Resource Guide and their very informative website www.hbaswil.org. The HBA and its members actively support local community organizations. During the 2017 Home Shows the Community Interfaith Food Pantry and Faith Baptist Church Food Pantry received over 1000 pounds of can goods and the donations were collected for the Violence Prevention Center which helped many families in need of simple daily supplies. The Professional Women in Building Metro East gave four scholarships ranging from $250 - $1,000 to young women furthering their education in the building industry, donations were made to Partner for Pets, O’Fallon Community Food Pantry, coat drive for Cahokia Citizens Food Pantry and four families were adopted for Christmas from Big Brothers/Big Sisters. When a business becomes a member with the local HBA they also become members of the Home Builders Association of Illinois (HBAI) and National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) as well. This gives the member the advantage of having a wide range of tools, resources and information that is valuable in keeping their business current in the housing industry. Members have educational opportunities to attend seminars designed to keep them aware of regulatory developments, trends and products to help them grow and have a successful business while delivering their customers and the communities they build a great service and value. When buying or building a house it is suggested that the buyer ask the builder, contractors and suppliers that are involved if they are a HBA member. That way you’ll be reassured to know you are dealing with a professional that has made an educated commitment.
