It is a sure way for you to handicap y our choice of a Builder or Remodeler When a homeowner does business with a member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Southwest Illinois, there are many benefits. Each member subscribes to a code of ethics. That means the builder, remodeler or associate member is not just doing a job, but also honoring a commitment to the customer, the community, the nation and colleagues in the industry. Each assumes his or her responsibility as a member and supports other members of the local Home Builders Association, the statewide Home Builders Association of Illinois and the National Association of Home Builders. Specifically, members are dedicated to honesty, high standards and fair dealing. Their goal is that every home purchaser receives the greatest value for every dollar. Members believe that homeownership should be within the reach of every family. They are dedicated to building homes that are well designed, well constructed and well located in attractive communities. Members also are forward looking, encouraging research into new materials, techniques and equipment that may improve home building and home financing. The association and its members are committed to support sound legislative proposals affecting home construction and home ownership, and are firmly committed to the principle that homes should be built by balancing affordability and regulation. Members also share information with the public on legislation and regulation that may impact home ownership, affordability and other issues of importance to local communities. Members are committed to following all legal requirements for the industry. The code of ethics establishes obligations that may be higher than mandated by state, local and federal law.
