Eye to Eye may protect students from feeling disconnected amongst peers who do not have a learning difference. When a student participates in Eye to Eye, they feel more comfortable in identifying with their learning difference. Eye to Eye may help increase a student’s self-esteem, putting them statistically significantly higher in their personal growth than students without learning differences. Depressive symptoms in students are more likely to decrease as their self-esteem increases. Without Eye to Eye, many students with learning differences believe their intelligence is less capable of change. Eye to Eye may help students begin to believe in a growth mindset.
