Celebrating Riders of All Ages DART’s Transit Education team was busy this spring presenting its two signature, annual events: the Student Art Contest and the Older Americans Month Information & Health Fair. Student Art Contest On April 29, students, families, friends, teachers, members of the creative community and DART staff gathered at the Dallas Museum of Art to celebrate the young people whose art best illustrated the theme, “The adventure starts here.” This year’s art contest attracted the attention of 171 schools, and from these schools came 2,246 individual entries. Judges selected 28 winners, including this year’s Best of Show: Caitlin Savage from Plano East Senior High School. To view this year’s winners’ artwork, visit DART.org/artcontest. Older Americans Month Information & Health Fair Age Out Loud was the theme for this year’s Older Americans Month Information & Health Fair. On May 11, about 1,400 seniors from throughout North Texas took part in the one-day event that offered free health screenings, information and resources, prizes and giveaways, lunch and more.
