INTERNSHIP 2016-17, NOW EMPLOYED AT IMPERIAL COLLEGE NHS TRUST Our Supported Internship programme was developed with Project Search and range of partners, assisting learners with Special Educational Needs to progress into rewarding employment. 12 learners progressed from courses in the college into working in a range of roles in Charing Cross Hospital over the course of a year. After a successful year performing various roles including assisting in operating theatres, Nimalraj was given a permanent job in the hospital. NIMALRAJ KANAGARAJAH “It’s great to work with a lot of different people. I loved the internship and enjoyed the whole period. I feel much more confident, calmer, more thoughtful and more mindful.” The highly-successful scheme is now in its second year. 11
