FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS What is the Branchville Beaver Boogie? The Beaver Boogie is a FUNDRAISER for the PTA's programs. It is a fun, healthy event designed to promote wellness while raising funds for the school. Students will walk, jog, or run around a oneeighth mile track located at the Lower Field behind the school for 30 minutes. How will this raise money for Branchville? Students will collect donations from friends and relatives. Donations can be collected in the supplied Boogie envelope and/or your child can set up a fundraising page online. Incentive prizes are offered at various giving levels. Donations are due Wednesday October 10, 2018. The t-shirt will be delivered the day before the event. All other incentives will be distributed two weeks after the event. When will the Boogie take place? Immediately following school on October 12 (or rain date October 19). Students who are participating will stay at school with parent class leaders. This is a PTA sponsored event. How will the event be conducted? The School will be divided into two groups of grade levels. Once school is dismissed, parent volunteer leaders will take the first group (K-2) to the Lower Field where they will begin to warm up and participate in the Jog-A-Thon portion of the event. The second group (3-5) will be led to alternate locations to participate in various fun stations (art and birthday party themed games). 45 minutes later the groups will switch. How/when can I pick up my child? After the event is completed, all students will be gathered at the Lower Field by grade level and class near their backpacks. Parents must go to the parent leader and sign their child out. For safety and security reasons no child may leave without a parent's signature. The scheduled completion of activities is 5pm. May adults participate? Because of safety concerns, the only adults permitted to participate in the jogging portion will be teachers if they choose to (and Mr. Margolus!). Parents are strongly encouraged to volunteer or come watch and cheer! Any students requiring special assistance are asked to contact Shelley Terry. My child can't participate. Can they still win prizes? Yes! All students can help their class reach 100% participation and win prizes by collecting donations. Are volunteers needed? Yes! Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and older siblings are welcome! Sign up here to volunteer: SignUp.com: http://signup.com/go/jvUtksF Does everyone need to register online? Yes! This will allow for us to account for all students making transportation and participation run smoothly. Remember, everyone who registers online receives a BES Boogie water bottle. Why is the t-shirt important? The Boogie is the only fund raiser that the PTA holds annually and the only time we ask families to
