One of the men suddenly produced a handgun and shot Officer Faulkner. Officer Faulkner’s partner chased the men but was unable to catch them. Offi cer Faulkner was survived by his wife and three children. The fourth Malden officer who died in the line of duty was memorialized at the Malden Police Station – the late Ptl. Allan “Aldo” Ray Jr., a 34year police veteran who died on September 30, 2014, at the age of 57 of a health condition.
